Our brood bitches - and any accepted for whelping - have special diets. After service they are fed a racing diet until whelping with all of the usual additives including Raspberry leaf tablets.
By keeping the feed at normal levels this help to restrict the growth of pups to normal proportions.  Over feeding prior to whelping can results in large pups which may create undue difficulty in whelping. Our bitches are fed a minimum of approximately 500 grams of food per day e.g. 6 pups minimum 3 kilos.  This gives the bitch the ability to provide adequate feeding for each of her pups.
	VIP caters for the whelping and rearing of pups to breaking in stage if required. Six whelping kennels exist fitted with heaters and fans.
